Eugene H. Gans, Ph.D. Co-Founder - Research and Development
Awarded the prestigious citations of American Men of Science, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World, Eugene H. Gans, Ph.D., is a world renowned pharmacist, chemist and inventor. He is the author and co-author of more than thirty publications and a patentee in more than twenty-five patents. He and his teams have developed formulations for over fifty well-recognized products ranging from prescription medications (e.g. Valium, Librium, Dynacin, Lustra), to over-the-counter "OTC" products (e.g. Nyquil, Clearasil, Fixodent, sustained release aspirin and cold tablets), and to Personal Care products (e.g. enhanced Olay and Pantene products).
Dr. Gans served as former Chairman of a Scientific Industry Task Group working with the FDA and its Advisory Group (1977-1986) to review OTC topical antibiotics, antifungals and anti-acne products. He also served as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee for the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CTFA) from 1981-1985. From 1989-1994, he was a member of the FDA/NIH/AAPS Industry Planning Committee to develop criteria for assessing the absorption of drugs and other active agents into and within the skin.
Currently, as President of Hasting Senior Associates, Dr. Gans provides consulting services for optimizing research and development, developing superior products, building product efficacy and distinctiveness and improving existing products.
